Joseph Reth
I am an American deeptech entrepreneur, computer scientist, and investor based in San Francisco specializing in artificial intelligence and consciousness research. I've been programming since I was 9 or 10, attended Modesto Junior College for Computer Science at 14, and briefly studied at San Francisco State University before dropping out.
I've been training autoregressive models and working on autonomous agent architectures since the first open-source LLM (GPT-Neo) was released in 2021. My work has reached millions of people globally, been implemented in U.S. Department of Defense systems, and shaped how organizations approach AI implementation at scale.
I'm currently independently working on probabilistic language modeling beyond next-token prediction and world models with grounded reasoning.
